چکیده

In this work, we aim to prove the theta dichotomy conjecture for dual dual pairs of type ( ̃ Sp(W ),O(V )) with dim(V ) odd. The crux of the proof relies on the analysis the reducibility of a certain a degenerate principal series representation of the group ̃ Sp(W ′) having double the rank of ̃ Sp(W ). This analysis is carried out by way of a normalized standard intertwining operator which is also used to define an epsilon factor coming from the doubling integral construction of PiatetskiShapiro and Rallis. In this paper, we also illustrate the connection between the doubling epsilon factor and the theta dichotomy conjecture.

The bacteriophage P1 hot gene product can substitute for the Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III {theta} subunit.

The theta subunit (holE gene product) of Escherichia coli DNA polymerase (Pol) III holoenzyme is a tightly bound component of the polymerase core. Within the core (alpha-epsilon-theta), the alpha and epsilon subunits carry the DNA polymerase and 3' proofreading functions, respectively, while the precise function of theta is unclear. holE homologs are present in genomes of other enterobacteriae,...

Nuclear magnetic resonance solution structure of the Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III theta subunit.

The catalytic core of Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III holoenzyme contains three subunits: alpha, epsilon, and theta. The alpha subunit contains the polymerase, and the epsilon subunit contains the exonucleolytic proofreading function. The small (8-kDa) theta subunit binds only to epsilon. Its function is not well understood, although it was shown to exert a small stabilizing effect on the e...

Structure of the theta subunit of Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III in complex with the epsilon subunit.

The catalytic core of Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III contains three tightly associated subunits, the alpha, epsilon, and theta subunits. The theta subunit is the smallest and least understood subunit. The three-dimensional structure of theta in a complex with the unlabeled N-terminal domain of the epsilon subunit, epsilon186, was determined by multidimensional nuclear magnetic resonance sp...

Difference between the second-Brewster and pseudo-Brewster angles when polarized light is reflected at a dielectric-conductor interface.

For a given pseudo-Brewster angle phi(pB) of minimum reflectance |r(p)| of p-polarized light at a dielectric-conductor interface, the second-Brewster angle phi(2B) of minimum reflectance ratio |rho|=|r(p)|/|r(s)| of the p and s polarizations is determined for all possible values of the complex relative dielectric function epsilon that lead to the same phi(pB). The difference phi(2B)-phi(pB) is ...

The proofreading exonuclease subunit ε of Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III is tethered to the polymerase subunit α via a flexible linker

Escherichia coli DNA polymerase III holoenzyme is composed of 10 different subunits linked by noncovalent interactions. The polymerase activity resides in the alpha-subunit. The epsilon-subunit, which contains the proofreading exonuclease site within its N-terminal 185 residues, binds to alpha via a segment of 57 additional C-terminal residues, and also to theta, whose function is less well def...
